Columbia, Missouri’s Nicole Williams has made a verbal commitment to Georgia Institute of Technology for the 2018-19 season.

A rising senior at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Williams is the reigning Missouri High School 100 breast champion; she won with 1:02.79 at the MSHSAA Girls State Swimming Championship in February. She was also a member of the state title-winning 200 medley relay (28.68 breaststroke split) and runner-up in the 200 IM (2:04.56).
A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, Williams swims year-round for Columbia Swim Club. She took 8th in the 200m breast and won the C final in the 100 breast at 2016 Summer Junior Nationals. This spring she rocked the Columbia Sectionals with top-3 finishes in the 100/200y breast and 200/400y IM.
Williams will add firepower to one of the Yellow Jackets’ less-robust point-scoring disciplines. Their top finisher in the 100/200 breast events at 2017 ACCs having just graduated, GT will rely on incoming freshman Alexandra Nilsson from Sweden and rising sophomore Kristen Hepler to fill the void in 2017-18. Williams will have several years of overlap with them when she arrives next year, bringing with her times that already would have scored in the C finals at the 2017 conference meet.
