11-Year Old Mikayla Tan Swims Top Ranked 200/400 IM

11-year old Mikayla Tan from Sacramento’s DART Swimming swam the fastest 11-12 200 IM and the second fastest 11-12 400 IM this season at the 2022 PC OAPB Senior Open on Jan. 22 – 23. 

Tan swam a Futures-qualifying time of 2:07.89 in the 200 IM, the fastest in the 11-12 age group this season. Her time is also the third fastest by an 11-year old since at least 2010, according to the SWIMS database. Her best time prior to this race was 2:11.57 from July, and her best time of the season was in November where she swam a 2:11.70.

In the 400 IM Tan swam a 4:31.56, which is the second fastest time in the 11-12 age group this season. However, Tan is the fastest 11-year old by nine seconds. She also ranks second among 11-year olds since at least 2010 in the event. Tan dropped almost six seconds from her previous best time this season, a 4:37.19 coming back in September. 

Tan also holds the fastest time in the 11-12 100 breast by almost three seconds this season with a 1:03.74, which is the fastest time by an 11-year old since at least 2010. She swam the 100 in a 1:05.26 at this meet.
