Panvel ke 12 saal ke Tanay Tushar Lad ne last Sunday ko Gateway Of India se Atal Setu tak 17km ki distance 2 hours 26 minutes and 37 seconds me complete karke open-water swimming me ak new record create kiya aur iss route par fastest swimmer ban gaye. Iss record ki certifying body- Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association (MSAAA) dwara ki gayi.
Veteran swimmer and Greater Mumbai Aquatic Amateur Association ke former president Zarir Baliwalla ke according, ye ladka absolutely amazing hai, jisne itni kam age me itna fantastic time lekar impossible task ko possible kar dikhaya hai, jabki professional swimmers ko ye route cross karne me 3 ghante se jada ka time lagta hai.
Ye notable feat unke coaches ke support se achieve ki gayi. Tanya ko Palava Olympic Sports Centre me Rupali Repale Swimming Academy me distinguished swimmer, coach and mentor Rupali Repale & Aniruddha Mahadik se training milta hai. Tanay training ke liye har din Palava aate hain, week me 4 din lagbhag 45km ki distance cover karte hain.
Tanya ne Gateway Of India se Arabian Sea me enter kiya jabki tide uske favor me tha. Unki iss achievement ne unhe swimming me ak role model ke roop me establish kiya hai. Baliwalla ne kaha, “Iss ladke ne great tenacity dikhai. Relay event me, hum wo haasil nahi kar paaye jo usne easily kar liya. Unki coach Rupali ne bahot motivate kiya hai, unhone iss talent ko pahchana hai, jisme aise aur records banane ka potential hai.”
Tanay New Horizon Public School, New Panvel me 6th class me padhta hai aur uske father Tushar ne bataya ki uska school bahot supportive raha hai. Uske school ne iss saal uski consistent achievements ke liye use best swimmer ka award diya. “Uski training subah 6 baje se hi start ho jaati hai. Ye sab COVID lockdown ke baad start hua. Ab 5 saal ho gaye hain jab wo Rupali ki Academy me training kar raha hai. Kabhi-kabhi hum training ke liye Nerul Gymkhana swimming pool bhi jaate hain. Uske future endeavours ke ki koshish ke liye, uska coach hi sabse sahi decision le sakta hai,” Tushar ne bataya.
2024 me, Unhone Thailand ke Krabi me International Oceanman me bronze medal jeeta, jisne unhe bade challenges ko face karne ke liye inspire kiya. Unhone Sunkrock to Gateway, Periyar Kochi (Kerala), Vijaydurg and Rankala (Kolhapur) sahit various state level open-water events me silver medals bhi obtain kiye, jahan unhone apni superior swimming abilities ko demonstrate kiya.
Open-water swimming kaafi challenging hota hai. Tanay ne apni apni competitive spirit ko maintain karte huye strong waves and difficult weather conditions ko face kiya. Usne inn obstacles ko remarkable strength ke saath successfully conquer kiya. “Wo bahot sincere & hardworking hai. Humne coming years me uske liye kai expeditions line up kiye hain, aur mujhe poora bharosa hai ki wo sabhi obstacles ko paar kar sakta hai, jaisa ki usne ab tak kiya hai,” unki coach Rupali ne kaha.
Unki achievements 6 saal ki age se start hone wali intensive training, psychological preparation, consistent efforts, practice ke liye Panvel se Palava, Dombivli tak daily aana-jana aur steady self-belief se upji hai. Unki commitment, determination and expertise ak inspiration ke roop me kaam karti hai. Tanay ne kaha ki unki mentor and coach Rupali ne unke jaise young swimmers ki abilities ko identify aur develop karne me important role play kiya hai. Iss saal January me, unhone kai senior swimmers ke sath compete karte huye Porbandar me 3 hours me 10km ki sea swim complete ki.
