2015 FUSION SWIM CAMPS

Popular Fusion Swim Camps, located at Dennison University in Granville, Ohio and at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado provide swim stroke instruction and drills so swim camp students can improve their form and speed in swimming.

Each program at the facility can be taken as an overnight camp or as a day or half-day instructional program. Dry land exercise, workshops in nutrition and bon-fire nights are all part of the overnight camp activities.

Two other reasons for participating in Fusion swim instruction are the coaches who lead the camps. Coach Gregg Parini at the Denison camp and Brian Schrader at the Denver facility have demonstrated their commitment to the sport of swimming through their leadership roles at each of the universities.

Meet Coach Gregg Parini (Denison University’s Instructor)

Coach and trainer Gregg Parini, host of Gregg Parini’s Swim Academy, is the featured instructor at the Denison University Fusion Swim Camp at Denison University. Mr. Parini’s Stroke Camp and Start & Turn Clinic take place in late June, with the Start & Turn Clinic scheduled on June 20 and the Stroke Camp featured from June 21 to June 25.

Instructional Facilities

A beautiful new natatorium is awaiting swimmer-campers at the Denison facility in Granville, Ohio. The large swimming complex features a competitive water course that is 50 meters long and 25 yards wide, which is supported by a separate diving area and seating room for 1,000 visitors.

Swimming Achievements and Awards

Coach Gregg Parini has headed the Denison swimming program since autumn 1987 and has built one of the most routinely successful swim programs in Division III athletics. His swimming teams have been awarded three national championships and 12 national runner-up awards. On a national scale, the coach has earned 50 consecutive top-10 finishes.

Parini, who is a nine-time National Coach of the Year, has been honored with two consecutive Division III national titles for his men’s swim team in 2010 and 2011. He led the women’s swim team to a national swim championship in 2001 as well.

Within the town of Granville, the coach is the founder of “The Swimming Clinic,” which provides swim coaching and learning for age-group swim participants.

Organizations and Associations

Parini is a standing member of the American Swimming Coaches Association, College Swimming Coaches Association of America, the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association and the United State Swimming Association.

Coach Brian Schrader Heads the Fusion swim Camp at the University of Denver

Held at the University of Denver, the Fusion Swim program with host coach Brian Schrader begins on June 20 with the Start & Turn Clinic followed by the Stroke Camp, which takes place from June 21 to 24, 2015.

Denver’s Premier Swim Facility

At Fusion Swim’s Denver camp, El Pomar Natatorium is the featured swim facility. The aquatic site is considered to be one of the premier aquatic facilities in the Western U.S. The pool holds 800,000 gallons of water, features four diving boards as well as a timing system that is state-of-the-art.

About the Coach and Director of Fusion Swim – Denver – Brian Schrader

Brian Schrader, who directs Fusion Swim’s Denver camp, heads the women and men’s swimming activities at the University of Denver. The women Pioneers were led to two consecutive SBC victories in 2010 to 2011 and 2011 to 2012 as well as two second place finishes in 2008 to 2009 and 2009 to 2010 under the coach’s leadership.

The women Pioneers also received two third place finishes in 2006 to 2007 and 2007 to 2008.During the 2010 to 2011 season, Schrader received SBC Coach of the Year for the women Pioneers for the 2010 to 2011 season.

Under Schrader’s leadership, the University of Denver’s men’s swim team claimed SBC titles in 2008 to 2009, 2010 to 2011 and 2011 to 2012. The men also received three consecutive 2^nd place wins during the seasons covering 2006 to 2007, 2007 to 2008 and 2011 to 2012.

Before he came to Denver, the coach served successfully at the University of Georgia in the role of Assistant Coach for the women’s team, leading them to a NCAA National Championship in 2005. During his tenure, he also led the men’s program in achieving four national finishes in the top 10. He spent one year of his coaching career working in the Big Ten Conference as well.

Schrader, who has served in the capacity of liason to the U.S. Olympic Committee, was appointed as the U.S. Virgin Islands coach for the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004. He also was chosen to take part in the U.S. Olympic Committee Coaches College.
