2-Time South Carolina 3A State Champ Bendziewicz Commits to Marshall

Catherine Bendziewicz, from Chapin, South Carolina, has announced her commitment to join the Marshall Thundering Herd swim team in the fall of 2016. Bendziewicz is a two-time South Carolina 3A state champion from Chapin High School; she won the 50 free (24.08) and 100 free (52.45) at the 2015 SCHSL meet this past month.

“I’m so excited for this new experience to come. The team seems hard-working and welcoming led by great coaches with motivation to make an unstoppable team in the up and coming years.  I can’t wait to see what the future holds and where it leads me.”

Bendziewicz is a member of the Palmetto Aquatics swim team in Columbia. In addition to sprint freestyle, she also excels in breaststroke and swam the breast leg on Chapin’s medley relay at the SCHSL 3A meet. Bendziewicz’s best short-course yards times are:

50 freestyle- 23.80
100 freestyle- 52.19
100 breaststroke- 1:06.44

In addition to Bendziewicz, Marshall’s class of 2020 will include Cassie Ward and Madison Young, both of whom have given verbal commitments to the Thundering Herd.
