GIRLS
Eastside – 592
Bishop Moore – 314.5
South Lake – 209
Eustis – 208
Crystal River – 207
Eastside sophomore Grace Sanchez and freshman Kirschtine Balbuena teamed up with two individual victories each, while their team won all three relays to propel them to a top team finish.
Sanchez took the 50 free in 24.96, more than two seconds ahead of the next competitor, while netting the 100 free (55.09), also by over two seconds. She swam solid anchor legs on the 200 relays, although not going quite as fast as her individual 50.
Balbuena had two convincing wins of her own, first blowing out the 200 free field with a 1:55.07, as the second best finisher was junior Cheyenne Willis of Tavares (1:59.16). Maggie Hohne proved to be a tough match in the 100 back, out splitting Balbuena in the first 50 28.79 to 28.82. Balbuena fought back hard, nearly negative splitting the 100 to finish first in 57.77. Hohne finished close behind (58.29), and the two were the only girls to break the minute barrier.
Balbuena had impressive relay lead-offs as well: going 24.83 in the 200 free relay and posting a 53.32 in the 400 free relay. She had the fastest of any splits in either field.
Another notable swim came from Bishop Moore senior Isabelle Spalding, who flew to a 58.26 victory in the 100 fly. Spalding scorched the back half to beat Eastside sophomore Stephanie Lampotang (59.85). The two were the only swimmers to break a minute.
BOYS
Crystal River – 353
Eastside – 316
Mount Dora – 240
Bishop Moore – 191
Citrus – 184
The boys’ events kicked off with fireworks, as Eastside and Crystal River begun their team battle with an extremely tight medley relay race. Crystal River led through the first three legs, with a .9 lead as the anchors dove in. Freshman Karo Adu swam a 22.95 split, and came from behind to steal the win for Eastside.
Over the next six individual events, swimmers from five different schools won titles. Tavares junior Logan Quint took the 200 free (1:51.40) and the 100 fly (54.95), out-touching Fernan Alcala of Bishop Moore in the latter race. Alcala was 55.01, as Quint out-split him in the back half of the race.
The other double winner was South Lake sophomore Conor Lynch, who won the 200 IM (2:06.20) and owned the 100 back (55.74).
Crystal River won the final 400 relay by over seven seconds, and with that, the team title was in their hands.
DISTRICT 5
GIRLS
Titusville – 572.5
Satellite – 348
Merritt Island – 290
Space Coast – 222.5
Rockledge – 201
Merritt Island started off with a medley relay win, thanks in part to Winter Nationals qualifier Dani Keymont’s 30.49 breast leg, which was faster than any other breaststroke or backstroke leg in the field. Keymont went on to win the 200 IM (2:14.74) by over 17 seconds, and took the 100 breast, which is one of her Winter Nationals qualifying events, in a commanding 1:05.56. The next best competitor was way back at 1:14.10.
Titusville controlled the freestyle relays, and picked up big points from junior Jordan MacDonald, who provided speedy freestyle anchors and bagged two individual wins. She was 23.96 and 53.93 on the end of Titusville’s free relays, and had two lifetime best swims in the 50 free (24.70) and 100 fly (58.07), according to the USA Swimming database.
Titusville’s other event win came from Julianna Graf, who went 1:05.71 to win the 100 back. They dominated the final team score.
BOYS
Titusville – 479
Rockledge – 448
Satellite – 296
Merritt Island – 174
Astronaut – 156
Rockledge kicked off the meet with a medley relay win, powered by a 23.59 fly leg from Alex Barnes, which was the fastest fly split in the field. Titusville was 2nd, over five seconds back. Barnes would come back to take the 100 fly in dominant fashion (53.09), winning by over three seconds.
Rockledge’s Matt Holmes, who split a quick 27.63 as his medley relay’s breaststroker, absolutely stormed to a victory in the 200 IM. He blasted a 1:53.84—no other swimmer came very close to breaking the two-minute barrier. He also led off Rockledge’s first place 200 free relay in 21.78, the only sub-22 split of anyone in the event.
Titusville’s only wins came in the 100 free and 400 free relay, but they had enough top-5 finishes to claim the team title.
DISTRICT 6
GIRLS
Land O’Lakes – 609
Lecanto – 360
Pasco – 249
Hudson – 158
Springstead – 142
Land O’Lakes won every event save for the 200 free, 50 free, and 100 back, as well as the 200 medley relay. They would have won the relay by a considerable margin, but they were disqualified due to an early take-off.
Ashley Schrader, Land O’Lakes freshman, came through big for her team. In the 100 fly, she had to battle with Pasco junior Sarah Massey for the victory. Schrader pushed the back half, and touched out Massey 1:02.10 to 1:02.22. She also held off a charging Bryce McMenamin (Pasco), splitting a 25.83 to McMenamin’s 25.55, to claim the victory for Land O’Lakes in the 200 free relay. Massey returned to win the 100 back (1:02.09) for 3rd place Pasco.

Lecanto – 338
Springstead – 302
Hudson – 216
Pasco – 202
Land O’Lakes won the 200 medley relay to start off the meet, and senior Jordan Wheeler took the 200 IM (2:08.25) and the 100 fly (54.32) to get things going for his team.
Freshman Jabari Ramsey, who split 28.32 on the breast leg of Land O’Lakes’ 200 medley relay, earned a victory in the 100 breast (1:04.09), and his team would go on to win the 400 free relay which would give them just enough points for the team title. Wheeler led off the relay in 50.84, the fastest of any swimmer.
