Texas freshman Will Licon has stood out as one of the nations top performers at his home pool this weekend. Licon cut almost three seconds off of his 200 IM, posting a 1:43.19, earning a B-final appearance and a few extra points for the Longhorns. In the 400 IM yesterday, Licon dropped 6 seconds, touching the wall at 3:40.83. His swim earned him fifth place points for Texas and broke Austin Surhoff’s Texas team record in the process. When Surhoff swam his 3:40.93 in 2013, he was the NCAA Championship.
