Women’s 200 IM – Prelims

Caitlin Leverenz is look to make the Pan Pacs team on the final day of the championships in the women’s 200 IM. She led the field this morning with her time of 2:11.61. Melanie Margalis is a close second at 2:11.70 and 16 year old Megan Small qualified third at 2:12.28. Karlee Bispo had the fourth fastest time at 2:12.92.

Maya DiRado, Celina Li, Madisyn Cox, and Elizabeth Beisel will be joining them in final, pending any scratches.

Sarah Henry was 9th at 2:14.47 and Shannon Vreeland finished 16th at 2:16.26.

Men’s 200 IM – Prelims

Conor Dwyer had the fastest time of the morning to earn the top seed in the men’s 200 IM. He touched the wall at 1:57.41. Tyler Clary was second at 1:58.3, followed by Chase Kalisz in third at 1:58.73 and Michael Phelps in fourth at 1:58.74. Ryan Lochte was right behind Phelps at 1:59.05. It is going to be a great race tonight!

Kyle Whitaker was the final swimmer under 2 minutes with his time of 1:59.13. Josh Prenot and Tynan Stewart will also be in the final tonight.

Austin Surhoff was 9th at 2:00.67 and Will Licon finished 16th at 2:01.85.

Women’s 50 Freestyle – Prelims

Ivy Martin looked great as she charged into the wall with the 10th fastest time in the world this year.  She finished with a 24.62. Simone Manuel was second at 24.89, followed by Abbey Weitzeil at 24.95. The final swimmer under 25 seconds was Maddison Kennedy at 24.96 in fourth.

Madeline Lous, Natalie Coughlin, Margo Geer, and Maddy Schaefer will join them in the final tonight.

Amanda Weir was 9th at 25.26 and Lia Neal finished 16th at 25.59.

Men’s 50 Freestyle – Prelims

Nathan Adrian and Anthony Ervin had the fastest two time of the morning to earn the top two seeds n the mens 50 freestyle. You knew these two would be fast in this event after seeing their 50 splits during the prelims of the men’s 100 freestyle. They were both 22.6 to the feet at the turn. They were the only two today under 22. Josh Schneider was third at 22.00 and Cullen Jones is fourth at 22.09.

Seth Stubblefield and Jimmy Feigen finished 5th and 6th.

There was a three way tie for seventh between Caeleb Dressel, Mark Weber, and Matt Grevers. During the swim-off, Mark Weber won with his time of 22.16 and Grevers finished second. Dressel had a huge flinch on the blocks just before the start.

Dressel will be ninth tonight and John Murray will be 16th with his time of 22.54. He won a swim off against Tyler Messerschmidt for the final spot in the B-final.
