can you tell me the dates of the junior national swim meet in orlando in 2016?

Sorry, is not Rick Colella, but Lynn Colella.

I don’t like the SCY prelims / LCM finals format. Better to do it like Winter Nationals with a SCY meet and then a LCM invite / time trials separately for kids to get cuts.

Trying to get best times in BOTH courses is pretty much impossible if you are a versatile stud like Drabot (entered in 9 events) or Seliskar (11 events… plus relays).

There will certainly be some underwater specialists taking finals spots from kids who are better in long course.

Not to mention, how many of these teams have access to SCY and LCM pools to practice?

Is Seliskar the modern Lynn Coletta very good at both 200 fly and 200 breast. She got a silver at the 1972 olympics in 200 fly and i think a silver in the world championships in 200 breast. She also was a good im’er.

Fly/breast is a rare combination, but its not the rarest. Dan Tranter also does 200 fly/breast/IM. There’s lots of collegiate examples I can think of who do that, but he was the first notable international example I thought of.
The rarest would have to be back/breast. I can’t think of anyone who does a back/breast combination on an international scale. (Of course as soon as I say that people will think of tons of examples.)

Quance-Julian was a great fly-breaststroker.
Arguably, back/breast are Thiago Pereira’s best two strokes.

Seliskar is a very good back to back went swimmer. Doing back to back 2 consecutive days is going to be tough.

The scheduling makes it difficult to accommodate Seliskar potential 100 fly, 200 breast back-to-back events and then 200 fly, 100 breast same back-to-back.

Of course, swimmers aren’t supposed to be both great breaststrokers and butterflyers. Violates the natural order of the cosmic universe.

And he will have to be at 100% in the morning if he wants to break some NAG records in SCY. The race to fast times will be in prelims. That’s purely and simply stupid.

…he’s tended to be a very good prelims swimmer. I like the format. He has a shot to light it up in SCY and also at night in LCM. He has a legit chance to get under 1:50 in the 200 breast SCY. That is the race I am keenest to follow.

Going under 1:50 in the 200 breast for Seliskar is highly unlikely, you have to keep in mind that only the one and only Kevin Cordes has ever gone under the 1:51 mark. He should be happy with going a 1:51 low, or possibly, considering he only go 4 days rest and was partially shaven, a 1:50 high maybe.
