Not to sound corny or anything, but I´d like to say that I´ve thoroughly enjoyed watching all the major swimming championships this summer: Universiade, Pan Ams, Worlds & US Nationals.
What a broad mix of great talent!
¨the world champs¨ stands out as the most important of course, but unfortunately everybody can´t be there. I think all the countries have done a great job (except for Mexico). Big sympathy out to the Mexican swimmers and what´s-his-name who didn´t get to swim.
When US commentators run out of stuff to say do they just shout “let ’em hear ya!”?
Is it just me or do people think that mike getting pulled out of the world champs was better for him. I think that if he was going to the worlds then maybe the message of the DUI wouldn’t have fully set in on him. Non the less I think that we will be expecting a great 2016 and years to come!
Maxime Rooney is a very impressive young swimmer that really seems to be enjoying this. Well done.
Well said….our best swimmers united in Omaha and then Rio! It will be very exciting and I hope all USA swimmers at every level are inspired to do their best. Fun!
This was a strange year for the US swimming – with the trials for the worlds team being held the year before (thus leaving out improving youth and veterans who had por years last year), and Phelps being suspended, the best US swimmers in 2015 ended up being split among the Pan Am games, the World University games, the Worlds, and the US nationals. Come 2016, with trails just before the games, all US talent will be united and we will see true US strength. But the rest of the world has also gotten very good, so the 2016 Games will be exciting.
Am I the only one more impressed by the US through two days of Nationals than the entire meet (thus far) at Worlds?
Not at all. I am with you 100%.
