Wow!Cielo like commemoration…it looks Phelps lifted a ton from his shoulders.No one is gonna hold him back now…

Did he jam one of his turns again? This picture looks like it’s got that similarly weird approach to it.

I kinda hope he did, that he’s just not used to swimming this fast so it got gunked up. SO HE COULD GO FASTER.

It’s 3 am in Kazan as Phelps drops this monster 1:52 in the 200 fly. In the face of a relatively disappointing world championships many are wondering whether USA Swimming is on the brink of losing its grip over international swimming dominance. Many Americans aren’t even making the championship final let alone medaling and one can only wonder how low the team morale is. Swimmers from other countries are pouncing at the opportunity. Today alone GBR felt the weakness as James Guy swallowed up and overtook the US on the final relay leg. That is the most joy I have seen from MP. Does my heart good to see his excitement! During the award ceremony he recognized everyone. Even those behind the podium!

This bodes VERY well for Rio. My guess is he is so psyched by this that he would actually train hard enough to get a new WR next year. Only he & Bob Bowman know his goals, but I bet they are reevaluating them now.

you can go back and forth on the stream if you didnt close it
