There were a few surprises on the final day of competition at the U.S. Speedo Junior National Championships, but for the most part, expectations held and Ella Eastin and Michael Andrew won their respective high point categories.

In the team title competition, SwimMAC Carolina left no question as to who was the strongest team on the women’s side, especially with two relays scoring double points in the 4×100 medley. A relay DQ kept Santa Clara from challenging rival Palo Alto Stanford, but their 88 points were enough to keep them in the top ten. The Waves of Bloomington were unable to add any points to their four-day total and thus fell from second to fifth overall.

Nitro took over the lead after the men’s distance freestyle and never gave it back. Sarasota Y men were able to keep Palo Alto Stanford at bay to secure a second-place team finish. SwimAtlanta and King Aquatic Club ended the meet with strong Day Five performances, cementing their spots in the top ten.

My math stinks but isn’t 5th 200 fly; 9th 200 back; 6th 400 free; tied 7th 200 free 47.5 points?
