Congrats to AngieOak, the night four winner of  our 2016 Olympic Trials Pick’ Em contest!  Our daily winner correctly predicted the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in all three individual events, and also added in a correct fourth place pick for good measure.

The overall race is really starting to spread out more now, with a few teams battling it out at the top of the leaderboard.  Duke Kahanamoku leveraged a top-five daily finish to vault into a tie for first with Kmaas3 at 141 points..  Shane McK, the overall leader after yesterday, sits in third with 140 points.

Day 4 stats/notes:

  • Average score: 28.4 points
  • Median score: 27 points
  • Standard deviation: 7.55 points
    • ~66% of readers scored between 20.9 and 36.0 points
    • ~95% of readers scored between 13.3 and 64.4 points
  • Our readers had by far their best day so far.  Between Katie Ledecky and Maya Dirado as heavy favorites in their respective events, and Michael Phelps swimming the 200 fly final, there were a fair amount of “easy” points this evening
  • More than 90% of our contestants correctly picked the winner in all three individual events tonight:
    • 561 of 594 readers who made 200 free selections correctly picked Katie Ledecky
    • 551 of 592 readers who made 200 IM selections correctly picked Maya Dirado
    • 587 of 594 readers who made 100 fly selections correctly picked Michael Phelps
    • Perhaps more notably, there were seven people who didn’t pick Phelps; those brave souls all had Jack Conger as their champion
