2016 USA Swimming Foundation Grant Applications Available

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The 2016 USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash grant application process is now open and applications will be accepted until Friday, February 12, 3 pm ET/Noon PT.

The USA Swimming Foundation will provide approximately $330,000 in grants to help Make a Splash Local Partner programs provide services to children in their communities. Individual grant awards will range from $1,000 to $15,000.

To be considered, applicants must be a Make a Splash Local Partner in good standing and provide a project budget and description. The 2016 USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash Grant Guidelines can be found here and the application can be found here. Funding will be provided to programs directly benefiting children who would not otherwise receive the opportunity to learn to swim.

“Our ultimate goal is to have 900,000 participants in swim lessons programs for 2016 and see that number increase to one million participants in 2017,” said Tina Dessart, Make a Splash Program Manager. “We provide funding to our partners so they have the tools to provide services to their communities.”

Since 2007, the Foundation has awarded over $3.7 million dollars to help fund learn-to-swim programs across the country and nearly 4 million children have received swim lessons through Make a Splash partners.
