Day three kicks off with the 100 fly, followed by the 400 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, and the 3 meter diving prelims.

100 FLY PRELIMS

Ohio State’s Liz Li posted the top time of the morning, going 51.37 to lead two other women under 52 seconds.

Christine Jensen of Indiana was 51.67 to take the 2nd spot in the final tonight, with Danielle Nack of Minnesota at 51.78 to take third.

Michigan got two women up in the A final with Vanessa Krause tied for sixth (52.71) and Emma Cleason at 8th (53.06), while Indiana got another swimmer in with Shelby Koontz at fourth (52.42).

400 IM PRELIMS

Meg Bailey led the charge in the 400 IM this morning, posting a time of 4:07.02 to lead all prelims swimmers in the 400 IM. Bailey, a senior at Ohio State, was one of three Buckeyes to qualify for tonight’s A final. Kristen Romano was 4th (4:09.92) and Molly Kowal 6th (4:10.17).

Ally McHugh was the first in a slew of 4:09’s, as the Penn State junior posted a 4:09.86 for the 2nd seed going into the A final. Michigan’s Rose Bi was 4:09.90 for third.

Notably, Northwestern got an A finalist here with Australian freshman Calypso Sheridan, who swam a 4:10.18 this morning to take 7th going into tonight.

200 FREE PRELIMS

It was all Michigan in this 200 freestyle, as they went 1-2-3 and took four out of the eight possible A final slots.

Gabby Deloof and Catherine Deloof sandwiched Siobhan Haughey as the Deloof sisters went 1:43.82 and 1:44.62, respectively, with Haughey’s 1:44.02 nestled in between. G Ryan will also race in the A final tonight after a 1:45.30 showing.

Kennedy Goss was another sub-1:45 swimmer this morning, putting up a 1:44.68 to take the fourth spot in the A final tonight.

100 BREAST PRELIMS

Six women broke the minute mark this morning in the 100 breast, led by Lilly King‘s 57.47.

King, along with Minnesota’s Lindsey Kozelsky, were a cut above the rest of the field. Kozelsky was 2nd this morning in 58.02, well ahead of third place Miranda Tucker of Michigan (59.26). Kozelsky’s teammate Rachel Munson will join her in the A final after her 59.63 this morning, while Emily Kopas (59.85) and Samantha Yeo (1:00.46) keep things moving for Michigan.

100 BACK PRELIMS

Beata Nelson was a full second ahead of the next-best competitor this morning with a 50.57, and she’ll take a crack at her B1G record 49.78 tonight in the final as the heavy favorite. Her teammate Katie Coughlin was 52.23 for 4th this morning.

Ali Rockett of IU was 2nd in 51.57, followed by Michigan’s Clara Smiddy (52.08).

3 METER DIVING PRELIMS
