Should we just call off the race for the ACC title? After tonights session, NC State could exhibition from here on out and still win

That’s a silly thing to say.

Can this troll get banned? This is so obviously not a state fan.

I’m not saying that all of our fans aren’t annoying, but the rate at which this person posts on here and the things that are said seem to be comically unrealistic. To me the comments are so over the top that it can’t be a person who genuinely cares about the team. (Especially since all of the comments clearly make us look bad)

A while back a person claiming to be a Stanford fan was posting some nasty comments. My thought was that the person was not really from Stanford – but how can Swimswam determine/police this?

Yea, there is really no way, this is just the unfortunate thing about anonymous posting. I mean there are definitely benefits to it though

Sorry to come off as being offensive but one thing we pride ourselves on is passion and energy. Since graduating, my fire for the Wolfpack swimming and diving team still burns strong. The brotherhood and bonds we formed will last for ever. Again sorry if I offended you, but I don’t think my comment was “comically unrealistic”. I project NC State to be up by around 200 points by the end of tonight. Tell me if that is unrealistic

Looks like the definition of a program at the top. Expectations become absurdly high every time and winning and only partially dominating is met with a ‘meh’. That’s a new situation for State in any sport. Welcome to the big leagues Wolfies.

I regularly see wolfpack commenters saying that NCST is a mainstay at the top of the NCAA with the likes of Cal/Texas-competing for national titles every year. This just comes with that territory. Expectations are high and when state has only won 1/3 relays so far (including one they won NCAAs last year in and didn’t podium this year at ACCs) in a meet they are supposed to dominate, its realistic that people start to question them. But yes, they are still having a good meet.

Not to take away from some really incredible swims by swimmers from other teams, but it looks like State is really focusing on NCAAs and thinks they can win this meet without many of their swimmers tapering or shaving. Texas has done that for years in a really light Big 12. It will be interesting to see how this strategy works.

Another factor is that the ACC is pretty darn good. NCSU is winning a meet with a bunch of really fast swimmers and talented teams. I think, when the dust settles in March, the story of this meet will be how good the conference is, top to bottom.

What in the world has happened to UNC’s swimming team?
