Meet Highlights:

The swim of the meet that was closest to a state record was Bolles swimmer Carly Schwab in the 100 breast. The senior, committed to swim at Florida, won the event with a lifetime best of 1:01.76. Her time was just 0.08s off of Caroline White‘s 2015 state record of 1:01.68.

Earlier in the meet, Schwab swam the breaststroke leg of the winning Bolles 200 medley relay (1:43.43). The Bolles girls went on to sweep all three relays, also winning both the 200 free relay (1:33.61) and 400 free relay (3:23.18).

Episcopal senior Jace Crawford was another multi-winner, earning victories in the 200 free (1:37.57) and 100 fly (48.70). Crawford then led off the winning Episcopal 400 free relay (3:04.07) at 45.19, which would have placed 3rd in the event final.

The winner of the boys 100 free was Tampa Prep’s Logan Tirheimer, winning the event with a 44.46. He earlier won the 50 free at 20.25, sweeping the boys sprint events.

King’s Academy sophomore Joshua Zuchowski had a monster of a state meet, sweeping both his individuals and aiding a relay win. His first win was in the boys’ 200 medley relay, where he blasted a 22.24 back lead-off to aid the relay’s winning time of 1:31.87.

Zuchowski handily won the 200 IM with a 1:47.44, crushing his lifetime best of 1:49.42. He later won the 100 back with a 47.85, smashing his LTB from prelims (48.63). Both of Zuchowksi’s times entered the top-35 all-time 15-16 event rankings.

8th-grader Erika Pelaez of So. Florida Heat impressed once again, sweeping both girls’ sprint events at 13 years of age. Pelaez first won the 50 free at 22.86, smashing her prelims lifetime best of 23.33. Pelaez’s time now puts her at #21 on the 13-14 all-time rankings. She also won the 100 free at 49.37, now the #14 on the ranks.
