The Glasgow International Swim Meet has announcced Olympians Duncan Scott, Ross Murdoch and Aimee Willmott among the line-up of competitors for the 2nd annual 3-day meet to be held May 24th-26th at the storied Tollcross Pool, site of the 2013 Duel in the Pool, 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2018 European Championships. The meet will also draw in the Danish Junior Team.
Over 700 swimmers and 60 teams attended the inaugural meet in 2018, with the competition including all individual events from 50s to 1500s and a total prize purse of £11,000. Held over three days, this year’s competition will once again include heats in the morning and afternoon sessions, followed by finals in the evening. Each event will have an A final, B final and a Junior final in the fast 10 lane Tollcross pool to ensure 30 athletes per event get a second swim.
Along with the aforementioned University of Stirling athletes, notable swimmers from Denmark, England and Ireland are set to attend, as are regional clubs stemming from Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Warrender.
