INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – USA Diving announced Thursday that the 2019 USA Diving Junior National Championships will be held July 30-August 5, 2019, on the campus of University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee. The meet will be held at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
“Having our junior national championships at a great facility will help continue our efforts to elevate the sport of diving in the U.S.,” said USA Diving CEO Lee Johnson. “We are excited to team up with Tennessee Aquatics to showcase our top young divers and see their potential to become future Olympians.”
Knoxville last hosted a USA Diving national championship in 2014, when the USA Diving Age Group National Championships, Junior National Championships and AT&T National Championships all were held at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. University of Tennessee was also the host site of the 2008 USA Diving Olympic Team Selection Camp, 2011 Age Group Nationals, 2011 Junior National Championships and the 2012 Winter National Championships.
“Tennessee Aquatics is extremely excited to once again host the nation’s most elite junior divers while showcasing the world-class Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center and the amazing city of Knoxville,” Tennessee diving coach Dave Parrington said, who is entering his 29th season with the Volunteers.
