USA Swimming’s 2021 18 & Under Spring Cup kicks off on Thursday from four different U.S sites: Irvine, Des Moines, Richmond and Orlando.

The long course competition, featuring several of the best 18 & under swimmers in the country, will have results specific to each site, and won’t be combining all of the results together.

All four sites will follow identical schedules, with prelims starting at 9:00 am and finals at 5:00 pm, local time. Each meet is capped at 250 women and 250 men.

Thursday night will feature timed finals of the women’s 800 free and men’s 1500 free before a traditional prelims/finals format the rest of the way. The women’s 1500 and men’s 800 will have timed final heats race on Sunday.

NOTABLE NAMES COMPETING

Irvine

The Irvine site, which will only include swimmers based in California, includes Mission Viejo’s Justina Kozan and Katie Crom, Santa Maria’s Claire Tuggle and NOVA’s Morganne Malloy on the women’s side, with Kozan, Tuggle and Crom set to battle head-to-head in the 100 free, 200 free, 400 free and 200 IM.

Dart Swimming’s Zachary Tan holds down the top seed in three events on the men’s side, leading the 100 breast, 200 IM and 400 IM.

Richmond

Torri Huske, Paige McKenna, Claire Weinstein and Zoe Dixon highlight the women’s side of the competition, with Huske the #1 seed in all six of her events (50/100/200 free, 100/200 fly, 200 IM).

Breaststroker Josh Matheny headlines the men’s action, with Arsenio Bustos, Daniel Diehl and Tommy Janton among the other big names competing.

Des Moines

Ashley Strouse, Emma Sticklen, Avery Karl, Kaelyn Gridley and Margaret Wanezek are among the women to watch out for in Des Moines, while Adam Fusti-Molnar, Hayden Zheng, William Modglin and Ziyad Saleem highlight the men’s action.

Orlando

The Orlando site will feature Olivia McMurray, Micayla Cronk, Katie Christopherson and Sara Stotler for the women and the likes of Matthew Fallon, Josh Zuchowski, Holden Smith, John Alexy and Sam Hoover for the men.
