2021 ISL Match 4, Day 1 Start Lists: Stewart in 100 FL, Brown in 200 BK

2021 INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING LEAGUE – SEASON 3, MATCH 4

Day 1 Start Lists

Lane Assignments

  • Lanes 1&2: DC Trident
  • Lanes 3&4: Cali Condors
  • Lanes 5&6: LA Current
  • Lanes 7&8: Aqua Centurions

Newly-minted 100 back World record-holder Coleman Stewart is entered to swim the 100 fly, alongside Caeleb Dressel, as well as the 50 back and lead off the men’s 4×100 medley relay. In match 2, Marcin Cieslak placed 5th in the 100 fly behind winner Dressel. Instead, Cieslak will be relay-only on day one, but is known for the 100 IM, which is on day two. Last match, Stewart swam the 200 back, where he placed 3rd, before hitting 22.61 to win the 50 back and lead off in a then-American record of 48.91. In for the 200 back alongside match 2 entry Brodie Williams will be Tomas Peribonio.

Also swapping events from last time is sprinter Erika Brown, who will take a jab at the 200 back alongside Beata Nelson. In match 2, Brown placed second in the 100 fly and the 50 free. Kathrin Demler is not entered in this meet, who swam in this event and the 400 free in match 2. For the rest of the day, Brown will only swim freestyle with entries in the 50 free and both relays. Katerine Savard will replace Brown in the 100 fly alongside Erika Brown.

While the Aqua Centurions have a very heavy men’s breaststroke group, the Condors are also exploring their men’s breaststroke group. Oleg Kostin, traditionally a sprint flyer, placed 3rd in the 50 breast in match 2, but will only swim that event today. In for the medley relays will be Kevin Cordes and Nic Fink. Cordes is entered in the 200 breast while Fink will hit all three breaststroke events.
