Indiana Women Capture Another NCAA ‘A’ Cut
Indiana kicked off tonight’s session exactly as they did last night. In a dominating win in the 200 medley relay, Anna Peplowski (24.61), Mac Looze (27.14), Elizabeth Broshears (22.96), and Kristina Paegle (21.27), combined for a time of 1:35.98. This marks the women’s third NCAA ‘A’ cut of the meet, earning them another automatic bid to the meet in March.
The Indiana men also opened the night with a win in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:24.09, but did not capture the NCAA ‘A’ cut of 1:23.76. Virginia Tech was close behind for second with a 1:24.21.
Youssef Ramadan Clocks Top Time From B-Final
After missing the A-final this morning by a tenth, Virginia Tech’s Youssef Ramadan rallied tonight to post the top time of the meet from the B-final. With a time of 45.13, Ramadan edged Ohio State’s Alex Quach by one one-hundredth.
Indiana went 2-3-4 in this event, with Brendan Burns taking second in the A-final behind Quach in a time of 45.81. He was followed by Finn Brooks (45.88) and Tomer Frankel (46.10).
Indiana Breaststroke Shines
Noelle Peplowski took first place for the Hoosiers on the women’s side, winning in 59.17 and beating Ohio State’s Josie Panitz (59.32) and Leah Baker (59.65). Brearna Crawford (1:00.63) and Mac Looze (1:00.68) finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
On the men’s side, junior Jassen Yep took first with a 52.05. Virginia Tech’s Carles Coll Marti prevented an IU sweep with his second-place finish (52.19), but Indiana’s Josh Matheny (52.30) and Max Reich picked up third and fourth for the Hoosiers.
Indiana’s Anna Peplowski Picks Up Two Wins
First, Anna Peplowski beat out reigning Big Ten champion Amy Fulmer in the 200 free with a time of 1:44.19. Peplowski out-split Fulmer by half a second in the final 100, after the two flipped at nearly identical 100 splits.
Peplowski went on to win the 100 back in a new personal best time of 52.12, improving by two tenths from what she swam at Big Tens this past February. Caitlin Brooks, Nyah Funderburke, and Carmen Weiler Sastre rounded out the top four all under 53.0.

Where can I find the race videos?
We haven’t found any yet for this meet, but if someone has a link, please let us know and we’ll post them.

Heard that a raccoon got loose on the pool deck in the morning, causing quite a ruckus. Wondering how this affected today’s swims?
Would just like to add that the women’s Ohio State ‘A’ 200 medley relay would have won if there not have been a DQ. Wouldn’t necessarily call it a “dominating win.”
Send us some air please we are dying in here
It’s so hot in there and the air quality is poor. I think they want to force us to buy more of their $5 bottles of water. If you try to refill your water bottle at the water fountain you might get chased down by one of the workers. I understand they want to make some money but $5 is ridiculous.
