2022 SPEEDO WINTER JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS – WEST

GIRLS SATURDAY HEAT SHEET

BOYS SATURDAY HEAT SHEET

Today is the fourth and final day of the 2022 Winter Junior Championships. This morning’s prelims include the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, and 200 fly. The slower of heats of the timed final 1650 will run later this afternoon, with the fastest heats swimming with finals.

There are no scratches in the top 24 of the boys’ 200 backstroke this morning, while Macky Hodges and May Peterson are the two out of the girls’ event. Hodges appears to be putting her focus on the 100 free and 200 fly. Bella Sims and Katie Grimes lead the girls’ side, while Keaton Jones comes in for the boys as the only sub-1:42 entry.

16th seed Annika Parkhe is absent from the girls’ 100 free, as is 7th seed Nathaniel Germonprez for the boys. There are four athletes seeded under 49.0 in the girls race, as Hailey Tierney leads in a 48.52. Sonny Wang from Nitro leads a deep group of sub-44.0 100 freestylers for the boys.

There are no changes to the top 16 of the girls’ 200 breast, as 16-year-old Piper Enge stands as the top seed at 2:09.09. Nathaniel Germonprez, the 2nd seed on the psych sheet, is absent from today’s heat sheet in the 200 breast. Logan Brown is the top seed in the event with a 1:55.11.

The Sandpiper duo of Grimes and Sims returns to lead the field in the 200 fly. 15th seed Evan Gold is the only scratch in the 200 fly for the boys, as David Schmitt and Cooper Lucas remain the top two seeds in the event.

In the 1650, the top 16 remains unchanged for girls, while 4th seed Lucas is absent to most likely focus on the 200 fly. Grimes leads the girls by 18 seconds, while Alec Enyeart leads the boys by 19 seconds.

Looks like Sims heat of 200 BK and McIntosh heat of 200 BF will swim at same time. I’ll be watching both, hope i don’t sprain my neck turning back and forth from one screen to the other. 🙂
