As the 2023 World Championships draw near, it’s time to start keeping track of who will be competing at the biggest swim meet of the year. Swimmers will converge in Fukuoka, with the swimming portion of the Championships set to run from July 23, 2023, until July 30. The first few countries to release their rosters for the competition included Canada, Japan, and Great Britain, following their respective World Championship Trials.
As the months go on, other nations will announce which swimmers have been selected to compete for them at Fukuoka 2023. We’ll keep updating this roster index as those announcements come out so that you can stay up to date on who to look out for at the meet.
At the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, 185 nations competed out of the 209 total World Aquatics members. In the swimming competition, a total of 19 nations won medals. The United States led the medal count with a total of 45 (17 gold, 12 silver, and 16 bronze), while Australia took home 17 medals, Italy 9, and Canada 11.
