Day 2 Prelims Heat Sheet
The first day of prelims at the first Pro Swim Series stop is about to start as some of the USA’s elite begin to wind up their preparations for this summer’s long course season.
There were a few who decided to whittle their events down, including Jack Dahlgren. Dahlgren, who swam collegiately for the University of Missouri, has opted to take on the 200 fly, where he is the #2 seed and drop out of the 100 free, where as the #8 seed is on the bubble of making the A-final. The former Mizzou Tiger has concentrated on the 200 fly of late, winning bronze at the 2023 Pan-Am Games and placing 6th in the final of the U.S. Olympic Trials.
Two other presumptive A-finalist have scratched this morning as Brady Johnson, the 7th seed in the 50 back and Raben Dommann, the #3 in the 200 fly have withdrawn. Johnson, who hails from the Chicago area is a first-year at ASU, but hasn’t competed this semester. Dommann, a Canadian national teamer and a semifinalist at the 2024 Worlds in the 200 back, has not competed in a while, but posted on social media the following, with the caption saying “Offficially unretired”.

On the women’s side the highest seeded swimmer to scratch the morning as #10 seeds Ekaterina Nikonova and Sabyne Brisson. Nikonova, competed collegiately for Florida announced a transfer to Northwestern in April of 2024, but has yet to record a result for the Wildcats. Brisson is one of a handful of Georgia Tech swimmers to pull out of this morning’s prelims. Slated to be the #10 seed in the 100 breast, Brisson as well as teammates Ela Ozdemir and Anna Hadjoloizou have opted to not race today. It should be noted that Georgia Tech has not qualified any swimmers or relays for the NCAAs.
