Arizona State University men’s swimming and diving team has added yet another verbal commitment to what it turning out to be a stellar class of 2022: two-time VHSL All-American Noah Desman from Clifton, Virginia will join Cody Bybee, Cole Kilburn, Eddie Michael, Elijah Warren, Ethan Luc, Gage Kohner, Jack Edgemond, Jack Kucharczyk, Jack Little, Jackson Etter, Jakob Icimsoy, Khalil Fonder, Liam Bresette, and Noah Henry in Tempe next fall.

Desman is a versatile swimmer who specializes mainly in free, fly, and IM. As a senior from Centreville High School, he placed second in the 200 free (1:38.61) at the 2018 Virginia State High School Class 6 State Championships. He also took sixth in the 100 free (46.29 in prelims) and anchored both the 200 free and 200 medley relays (fastest anchor was 21.01).
He has been with his club team Machine Aquatics for the past 8 years. Last summer he competed in the 100/200 free, 100 fly, and 200 IM at NCSA Summer Championship, earning best times in all his events. Since then, he has spent his senior year updating his SCY times in the 50/100/200/500 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 100/200 fly, and 100/200 IM.

With all these kids going to ASU, just means there’s going to be a huge transfer out group next year.
Braden: ASU’s roster for this past season was somewhat small and lists Reid Elliott, David Hoffer (diver), Christian Lorenz, Heikki Makikalio (diver), Patrick Park, and Andrew Porter as Seniors (or Grad). I have read on this board that other swimmers have already left, but don’t no if this has been confirmed. So GGHGG’s post here may come to fruition, no?

Cody Bybee is. Noah Henry is of that caliber in SCY, his LCM is just a little behind, and I would guess he makes the National Junior Team this summer.

I would assume based on who is going to score them the most points, which is not always hard-and-fast fact.

Nope. Michigan had at least 18 freshmen in the 2010-2011 season (can’t recall if they had more that might not have showed up or finished the season or otherwise might not be reflected in the archives – for some reason the number 21 stands out to me).
Not sure what the all-time high is, but 16 definitely isn’t it.

I’m sure that’s a few short of how many are actually coming in, not sure if there’s 7 more men or not, though it seems unlikely. This year’s graduating senior class probablyf reed up a ton of scholarship money.
