3x Arkansas 6A State Champion Lindsey Haman Commits to Lindenwood University

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Linsey Haman of Little Rock, AR has announced her decision to swim for the DII Lindenwood University beginning in the fall of 2021. The free and breast sprint specialist is a year-round swimmer for the Arkansas Dolphins and she recently graduated from Central High School.

I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Lindenwood University! The moment I stepped on campus it just felt like home. Everyone was so nice! Thank you to my family and friends for supporting me and my coaches for helping me to get where I am today. Also a thank you to American College Connection for guiding me through the recruitment process.

Haman is a 3-time Arkansas HS 6A State champion. In February, she won the 50 and 100 free, smashing her previous best times. She was entered in the 50 free with a time of 24.83, but her previous best was a 24.31 from 2019. Her previous 100 free time was also from 2019. She dropped 0.63 seconds to go a time of 52.50. Haman swam the breaststroke leg of Central High School’s 200 medley relay and she anchored the 200 free relay. They finished second and first, respectively.

She also won the 50 free during her junior season. She went a time of 24.35 to take the gold medal. In addition, she finished fourth in the 100 breast (1:07.30) and earned gold medals for the 200 medley and freestyle relays.

Top SCY Times:

  • 50 free – 24.07
  • 100 free – 52.50
  • 50 breast – 31.43
  • 100 breast – 1:06.47

The Lindenwood women’s team won the program’s first GLVC Conference title. They scored 3 points more than the University of Indianapolis to take home the conference title. Coach Jason Owen was named Women’s Coach of the Year at the end of the meet. Sophomore Beata Maruszczyk earned individual conference titles in the 200 free and the 100 and 200 breast.

Haman will be joining a large sprint group. During the 2020-2021 season, six women went sub-24. Haman’s time would have made her the team’s eighth-fastest and she would have been their seventh-fastest competitor in the 100 free. She would have been the team’s third-fastest in the 100 breast, behind Maruszczyk and Lexie Winnett.

She will be joining the team as a member of the Lions’ class of 2025.
