France has officially named its national team for the European Championships, and as predicted after the national championships, the roster features 23 men and 20 women.
Yannick Agnel is the obvious headliner – coming off his first season of training with Bob Bowman at the U.S. NBAC club, Agnel qualified for the French team in the 200 and 400 frees, winning national titles in both.
He’ll be joined on the men’s side by fellow French icons Camille Lacourt, Jeremy Stravius and Florent Manaudou. The backstroke races look particularly strong for France, with Stravius and Lacourt joining NCAA runner-up Eric Ress over the three backstroking distances.
On the women’s roster, Camille Muffat is the key freestyler, qualifying in the top slot in the 100, 200 and 400 frees as well as getting in in the 50 free and adding the 100 fly. She’s joined by all-around star Charlotte Bonnet, sprinter Anna Santamans and backstroke specialist Cloe Credeville.
