Davis is a senior at Palmetto High School in Williamston, South Carolina. He is the 2016 SCHSL 3A state champion in the 200 IM (1:54.09) and 500 free (4:38.64), and the 2014 and 2015 state champion in both the 200 free and 500 free.

Davis swims year-round for Team Greenville. He had a particularly explosive summer. First he competed at 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the 200m free, 200m back, and 400m IM, although he was also qualified in the 400m free. Then he was a multi-event finalist at 2016 Speedo Summer Junior Nationals, winding up his long course season with new times in nearly every event. At Juniors he finished 18th in the 200m free with a personal-best time, ninth in the 400m free, seventh in the 800m free (PB), 36th in the 100m back, fourth in the 200m back (PB), 12th in the 200m fly (PB), and fourth in the 400m IM (PB).

His top times include:

  SCY LCM
200 free 1:38.00 1:51.88
500/400 free 4:21.24 3:57.27
200 back 1:47.28 2:01.97
200 fly 1:47.87 2:03.36
200 IM 1:51.09 2:06.88
400 IM 3:55.54 4:24.43

Davis is tailor-made for the 4IM/mid-distance program in Athens. He will have a year of overlap with Gunnar Bentz and the Litherlands, two with Aidan Burns, and three with freshmen Javier Acevedo, Jackson Ford and Clayton Ford. Davis will enter the University of Georgia with fellow verbal commit, Camden Murphy.
