Courtney Caldwell is the second swimmer with at least Summer Junior Nationals qualification time standards to verbally commit to the North Carolina State Wolf Pack on Wednesday.
Unlike her future teammate Anna Jahns, though, Caldwell is more in the Wolfpack’s wheel house as a sprint freestyler, backstroker, and butterflier.
Her best times:
- 50 yard free – 23.05
- 100 yard free – 49.98
- 200 yard free – 1:49.54
- 100 yard back – 55.31
- 100 yard fly – 54.76
Braden Holloway’s team has great depth in all of those events, but Caldwell will still be fighting for spots in the free relays as a freshman and will in the least give the Wolfpack another individual scorer at the ACC Championships.
During her junior year, Caldwell didn’t have a great season in the sprint freestyles, but she still improved her recruiting stock with big drops in the 100 fly and 100 back.
Caldwell swims for Ad Astra Area Aquatics and Lawrence Free State High School in Lawrence, Kansas. She has won three-straight Kansas High School State Championships in both the 50 and 100 yard freestyles to go with 3 relay titles.
Whooohoooo!! Go Pack!
