We realize that the words ‘distance’ and ‘resistance’ aren’t every swimmer’s favorite words. However, this week we’re offering a solution that allows for a synergy between distance and resistance training to make for efficient use of time in the water.
This week, try pairing a Swim Parachute with a distance set to cut down on the yardage without sacrificing the endurance component.
Whether you’re looking to save a bit of time in the pool or add some variety, the Swim Parachute is a great way to simulate the muscular and aerobic strain of a yard-heavy workout without all of the distance.
For example, take a distance set that you would normally do, cut it in half and wear a Swim Parachute for the duration of the set. Take note of the level of fatigue at the end of the set and continue to track affects of the added resistance from week to week.
