The University of California – San Diego has released its swimming & diving schedule, highlighted by a tough January weekend featuring back-to-back Quad Duals with some stiff incoming competition.
UCSD, which finished 7th for men and 5th for women at last spring’s NCAA Division II National Championships, will face some of the toughest competitors from a number of different levels, including several tough Division I programs.
The big weekend to circle on this calendar is January 3-4, when the Tritons will host back-to-back four-way duals. On Friday night, they get three Division I programs: San Diego State, with Mountain West swimmer of the year Anika Apostalon, plus the University of the Incarnate Word and Grand Canyon University, both in the midst of the transition to Division I.
Then on Saturday, UCSD will have to reload and go after Colorado Mesa, the men of Missouri S&T and the women from San Jose State.
The Tritons are now 6-time defending champs of the Pacific Collegiate Swimming and Diving Conference, and will defend their titles on February 18-21 in La Mirada, California. They’ll also attend the local Arena Invite in November, a probable mid-season focus meet.
Full schedule available below or on the UCSD website here.
