Big Ten Network to Air Indiana-Auburn Dual Meet LIVE on October 10th

In two of the last three years, the Big Ten Network has had a live broadcast of the Indiana-Purdue rivalry meet.

This year, they’ll instead air the Hoosiers’ season-opening dual against the Auburn Tigers on October 10th, at 1 P.M. Eastern Time.

“The Indiana Hoosiers dual meet against the Auburn Tigers brings together two of the most significant swimming and diving teams in the illustrious history of the NCAA,” said Indiana head coach Ray Looze. “It is an honor to compete against such a program on live TV and we look forward to compelling contest.”

The meet will be packaged in a two-hour format for television, according to an Indiana press release. This will be the first non-conference dual meet to be aired live on the Big Ten Network.

That’s the beginning of a very good, very interesting schedule for Indiana that will see them with regular-season meets against Michigan, Texas, Louisville (twice), Tennessee, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Purdue, Ohio State, and Evansville.

This is the first swim meet coverage that the Big Ten Network has announced for the 2014-2015 season. With the increasing prominence of college sports specific networks (SEC Network, Big Ten Network, Pac-12 Networks, the Longhorn Network), more-and-more Olympic sports will be receiving exposure on live television. SEC coaches have been told that some of their meets will be aired, but have not been given a final schedule yet.
