Ripon College names Ryan Goggans Head Swim Coach

After a nationwide search, Ripon College has hired Ryan Goggans as its Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach. Goggans comes to Ripon from St. Cloud State in St. Cloud, Minn., where he served as a Graduate Assistant Coach for their swim team.

While with St. Cloud, Goggans was accountable for mid-distance and butterfly training groups, on deck support and recruiting and utilizing social media for the program. In his one year as an assistant coach, St. Cloud earned seven All-American selections and conference championships in eight events. The also broke 21 school records during that season.

Goggans earned his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from St. Cloud, where he served as Team Captain of the swimming and diving team and was named Honorable Mention All-American Scholar Athlete.

“We’re extremely pleased to welcome Ryan to the Red Hawks Athletic Department and to the Ripon community,” Ripon College Athletic Director Julie Johnson said. “I look forward to seeing the improvement and growth that he will bring to the Ripon swimming program.”

A registered Minnesota Swimming Official, Goggans has been a starter/referee and diving judge at high schools and YMCAs. He is also CPR and First Aid Certified.and has participated as a coach and volunteer at the Special Olympics Wisconsin in Appleton.

Goggans is,currently working towards the completion of his Masters Degree in Sports Management from St. Cloud.
