UNLV Gets Verbal from Swedish-American Breaststroker Christopher Havton

Christopher Havton, a senior at University High School in Irvine, California, has verbally committed to join University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ Swimming and Diving class of 2019.

Havton, who trains with Aquazot Swim Club in Irvine, California and Mölndals Allmänna Simsällskap (MASS) in Sweden, is a US Junior National qualifier in the 200m breast, 100m breast, and 200m fly. His top times are:

200y breast: 2:06.68        200m breast: 2:21.81
100y breast: 57.02            100m breast: 1:06.47
200y fly: 1:52.12                200m fly: 2:05.68

Havton was a member of University High School’s 2014 CIF-Southern Section Division I championship team. Most notably, he won the “B” final in the 100 breast.

Havton also swims competitively in Sweden, representing MASS. Between 2011 and 2014 he won four individual gold medals at the Swedish Youth National Championships, and two national team championships with MASS. In 2013, Havton represented the Swedish Youth National Team at the Nordic Youth Championship in Reykjavik, Iceland. He is part of the Swedish Swim Federation’s Talent Development Program, and was recently included in its roster as a candidate to qualify for the first European Games in 2015.

Havton is coached by Brian Pajer at Aquazot Swim Club, and has been coached by Gunnar Westman and Misja Klevstig at MASS.
