Connor Jaeger, Michael McBroom and Cody Miller to Visit Children’s Hospital

National Team swimmers Connor Jaeger (Fair Haven, N.J.), Michael McBroom (The Woodlands, Texas) and Cody Miller (Las Vegas, Nev.) are visiting the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital for Cupcake Therapy on Friday from 1-3 p.m. CT in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

“I have been visiting CS Mott Children’s Hospital since I was a freshman here at the University of Michigan,” said Jaeger, who won the gold medal in the 1500-meter freestyle at this year’s Pan Pacific Championships. “It is awesome to be able to continue this tradition and give back to a hospital that has done so much for children and their families.”

During their two-hour appearance, the athletes will take photos and sign autographs with patients and families while eating cupcakes and listening to live entertainment.

“As a National Team athlete, it is important to give back in our own way, whether we have a small impact on cheering someone up in a hospital or inspire kids to dream of becoming a swimmer themselves,” said McBroom on the visit. “Ultimately, we may never know how much we could impact someone’s day, week or life so it is nice to lend our time in hopes of making a difference.”

The National Team members’ appearance at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is part of USA Swimming’s Athlete Partnership Program. The program is a platform deigned to help National Team swimmers encourage kids and adults to take up the sport as a healthy and positive activity. These appearances directly promote the sport and the healthy lifestyle it represents. To find more information about how to get started in the sport of swimming, visit swimtoday.org.
