Towson Adds Depth to Distance Group with Triangle Aquatics Club Cami Andreini’s Verbal

Cami Andreini, of Cary, North Carolina, has verbally agreed to join the Towson Tigers beginning with the 2015-16 season. Andreini is a senior at Green Hope High School and she swims for John Payne at Triangle Aquatics Club Titans.

“I committed to Towson University because I love the confidence the coaches have in their swimmers and the strong work ethic of the team, both in the pool and classroom. They made me feel like I could be a special asset to the team. The honesty and proactive communication from the coaches throughout the recruiting process impressed me. I am excited to work hard and do great things as a student athlete at Towson! Go Tigers!”

Andreini’s specialty is the middle- to long-distance free events. Her biggest gains have been made in the 500 free, where she has been dropping 4-5 seconds every season since freshman year. Her best times include:

500y free: 5:06.42            400m free: 4:40.01
1000y free: 10:31.26        800m free: 9:34.90
1650 free: 17:48.44          1500m free: 18:21.04
400y IM: 4:38.27               400m IM: 5:18.82
200y back: 2:09.52            200m back: 2:30.85

During her junior season at Green Hope, Andreini dropped over 4 seconds from her best 500 free time at Regionals, then another second at North Carolina High School 4A State Championships.

Andreini told SwimSwam, “I am looking forward to continuing my swimming career at Towson because of their great history of training and success in distance events.”
