Denver takes 3 of 4 weekly Summit League awards

Swimming release:

ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver’s Dylan Bunch and Samantha Corea were named The Summit League’s Swimmers of the Week for their performances Oct. 21-27.

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK        
Dylan Bunch, Denver
Jr. // Boulder City, Nev.

Bunch earns his fourth career Swimmer of the Week award and first of the season after a trio of top-three individual finishes in Denver’s victory over Missouri State.  The junior won the 500 free in 4:28.96 and the 1,000 free in 9:28.05 and also took third in the 200 free.  His 500 free time is a league best and ranks eighth in the NCAA, while he also first in the league in the 1,000 and ranks second in the 200 free.  Bunch was also a member of the winning 800 free relay squad (6:47.79), which ranks second in the NCAA, and the second-place 400 free relay team (3:02.96).

WOMEN’S SWIMMERS OF THE WEEK
Samantha Corea, Denver
Sr. // Vancouver, British Columbia

Corea collected her third career Swimmer of the Week award and first of the season after combing for five first-place finishes, two individual and three relays, in the Pioneers’ wins over Missouri State and Kansas.  Individually, the senior won the 100 back (54.13) and 200 back (1:58.31) and broke Robinson Natatorium Pool records in both events.  Her 100 back time ranks 13th in the NCAA and her 200 back time is 22nd, while both lead the league.  Corea was also a part of the winning 200 medley (1:43.95), 200 free (1:35.71) and 400 free (3:27.96) relay teams.

Diving release:

ELMHURST, Ill. – Denver’s Ross Edfort and South Dakota’s Greysen Hertting were named the Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for their performances Oct. 21-27.

MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Ross Edfort, Denver
Sr. // Somerset, N.J.
Edfort captures his fifth career Diver of the Week award and first of the season after sweeping both diving events in the Pioneers’ win over Missouri State.  The Somerset, N.J., native won the one-meter dive with a score of 335.05 and the three-meter with 332.50 points.  Both scores rank second in the league and qualify Edfort for the NCAA Zones.

WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Greysen Hertting, South Dakota
So. // Appleton, Wis.
Hertting earns her third-straight Diver of the Week honor and 13th of her career after posting four top-three finishes, including two event wins.  The sophomore recorded her best performances on both boards in a dual at Iowa State, winning the three-meter dive with 293.65 points and finishing runner-up in the one-meter with 275.55 points.  Both scores are NCAA Zone qualifiers and are tops in the league this season.  She also won the three-meter dive (249.15 points) and took third in the one-meter (247.43 points) at Northern Iowa.
