Navy Gets Verbal Commitment From Versatile Vince Everman

The United States Naval Academy has received a verbal commitment from Vince Everman, a senior at La Salle College High School in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. Everman will join their roster next fall, for the 2015-2016 season.

Everman specializes in I.M., backstroke, breaststroke, fly, and freestyle events, making him rather versatile. At the 2014 Pennsylvania AAA High School State Championships, he placed ninth in the 100 Back and seventh in the 200 I.M., as well as splitting 46.86 as the lead-off for his team’s second place finish in the 400 Free Relay. This summer, he qualified for Summer Junior Nationals in the 100 Back and 100 Breast.

Everman’s Best Times

(SCY)

50 Free: 21.34

100 Free: 46.86

200 Free: 1:45.03

100 Back: 50.41

200 Back: 1:52.31

100 Fly: 53.29

200 I.M.: 1:52.63

100 Breast: 1:06.04 (LCM)

Everman Is Improving Rapidly

Everman’s best times are all from his junior season. He has dropped 1.5 seconds in the 50 Free, two seconds in the 100 Free, six seconds in the 200 Free, two seconds in the 100 Back, nine seconds in the 200 Back, three seconds in the 100 Fly, four seconds in the 200 I.M., and nine seconds in the 100 Breast (LCM), all in his junior season. Currently, Everman would score in the 200 I.M. B Final and 100 Back A Final at the Patriot League Championships, which would help the Navy Men continue their winning streak.

“Everman specializes in I.M., backstroke, breaststroke, fly, and freestyle events…”

Oh yeah? Only those events? That’s an interesting “specialist.”

But seriously, kid looks like he has a lot of promise.
