A3 Performance is excited to announce the addition of 24-year old backstroker Bryce Bohman to the elite team of swimmers representing A3 Performance. Bohman, an Illinois native who recently graduated from West Virginia University, is an up and coming talent ready to make a statement signing with A3 Performance.
Born and raised in Moline, Illinois, Bryce Bohman started swimming at age 5 and never looked back. Bohman began his collegiate swimming career at Lincoln Junior College where he was a three-time NJCAA National Champion and NJCAA National Record Holder in the 100-yard backstroke.
After his sophomore year, Bohman transferred to a Division I program at West Virginia University to train and compete at a higher level while earning a degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. At WVU, Bohman went on to break seven WVU School Records, be a two-time First Team All-American in the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes, and be the 2014 Big 12 Swimmer of the Year.
At the 2014 NCAA Championships, Bohman’s 45.29 100-yard backstroke and 1:39.83 200-yard backstroke earned him 19th fastest all-time in both events.
Attending graduate school at WVU for Athletic Coaching Education and now embarking on his post-graduate career, Bohman is looking forward to his partnership with A3 Performance and is ready to take the next step in his swimming career.
“I feel that I have a lot more left in the tank,” said Bohman. “I am just starting to reach my full swimming potential. I was ecstatic that A3 gave me the opportunity to represent such a great brand. I only expect great things from both myself and A3 Performance in the future.”
Now partnered with A3 Performance, Bohman has his sights on moving up the U.S. and World Rankings for backstroke. There is no doubt that he will continue to be a major competitor in the backstroke events.
“Bryce is a very talented athlete and we are excited to be working with him at this point in his career. He has performed well thus far, but his best swimming is in front of him,” said Dan Meinholz – President of A3 Performance.
After a great summer of training with the University of Arizona, Bohman has returned to West Virginia University to continue his post-graduate training. Expect great things from Bohman moving forward, and be sure to watch out for him in 2016!
