Lauren “Lobo” Peavy, a co-captain of the five-straight state champions from Chiles High School in Tallahassee, Florida, will stay nearby and swim for the Florida State Seminoles beginning in the fall of 2015.
“Florida State has always been my dream school, so the second I stepped on campus on my recruiting trip I instantly fell in love,” Peavy said. “I chose Florida State because I loved the team and the coaches, they felt like a family. The training environment is great and the campus is beautiful. I felt so welcome and already a part of the team when I visited.”
She’s primarily a breaststroker, with yards bests of 1:06.29 in the 100 and 2:20.52 in the 200, both of which were done during her sophomore season. She’ll have a chance at improving at least one of those times in December when she races at Winter Juniors in Federal Way in the 200 breaststroke. She earned her trip to that meet with a 2:39.66 long course time.
Peavy trains year-round with the ATAC Swim Club in Tallahassee under Terry Maul.
