While the Yale men were pulling off a big upset against Penn State, the Lady Bulldogs were soundly beating New Hampshire at home.
Yale won 10 of 13 events to take the meet, including a distance freestyle sweep from Eva Fabian. The junior topped the 1000 free (10:06.70) and the 500 free (5:03.04), leading a Bulldog 1-2 in each race. Those were two huge point swings that New Hampshire was ultimately unable to overcome.
In addition to sweeping the relays, Yale also swept diving courtesy of Lilybet MacRae. The sophomore scored 285.30 on 1-meter and 296.75 on 3.
Yale nearly pulled off a freestyle sweep, dropping only the 200 free to New Hampshire. Russian freshman Liza Baykova took that event for the Wildcats, going 1:51.67.
Fabian swept the longer events, and Sydney Hirschi (24.45 in the 50) and Kina Zhou (51.52 in the 100) took the other freestyle races for Yale.
The only other events New Hampshire could steal were the 400 IM (Katie Mann in 4:23.70) and 100 breast (Bettina Caspersen in 1:06.10).
Yale, meanwhile, took the 100 fly and 100 back, with Heidi VanderWel taking the fly in 57.34 and Michelle Chintanaphol winning the backstroke in 57.92.
