The dates and locations for the 2015 series of KNZB Challenger competitions have been set.
They include:
- KNZB Challenger February 14 – Drachten
- KNZB Challenger February 20-22 – Hague
- KNZB Challenger March 14 & 15 – Dordrecht
- KNZB Challenger July 12 – Alkmaar
These series of competitions was an initiative by the Royal Dutch Swimming Federation to expose more of the country’s young swimmers to the nation’s top athletes. Each competition will include the country’s top swimmers who will be involved in these local events.
Currently the national team is at a training camp in Thailand. The team will return home tomorrow and will be using these first competitions as a test of their fitness. Athletes such as Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Femke Heemskerk, Moniek Nijhuis, Inge Dekker and Sharon Rouwendaal will be competing in these meets.
Each competition will involve the local communities in different ways including such things as swimmer and coaches clinics.
To host an event each of the communities had to have a 50 meter pool, an electronic timing system and a strong organizational plan and structure.
