Arkansas goes perfect 16 for 16, tops Missouri State on senior day

The Arkansas Razorbacks sent their seniors on their way with an exclamation point victory, a perfect sweep of Missouri State. The Razorbacks won all 16 events on senior day in a truly dominant performance.

Final score: Arkansas 191 – Missouri 96

From the first event, where Arkansas placed all four of their medley relays ahead of Missouri State’s, it would be the Razorbacks’ night. Anna Mayfield, Nikki Daniels, Susanna White, and Maddie Monroe were the top finishing Razorback relay with a 1:43.11.

Daniels would later top both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes for the Razorbacks, winning the 100 in 1:03.77 and the 200 in 2:19.24, a seven second win.

Mayfield would add two individual wins as well, in the 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle. She won the 100 backstroke with a 55.38, almost two full seconds ahead of teammate Liz Braun, who was second in 57.17. Then, she ran away from the field in the 500 to win in 4:53.18, beating teammate Rachel Stoehr‘s 4:59.31.

White would disqualify in the 100 butterfly, opening the door for Taylor Weiss to win in 58.43.  The 200 butterfly went to Jessie Garrison in 2:04.91. White did win the 50 freestyle, however,  in 23.60, just .12 hundredths ahead of teammate Nina Drolc. Drolc hit the wall in 23.72.

After the medley relay, Aiden Lister won the 1000 freestyle in 10:13.89. Monroe then returned for a win in the 200 freestyle in 1:50.11.

Monroe added a second win in the 100 freestyle with a 51.19. Missouri State’s Anna Bump finished second in 53.65, followed by Kate Gately, also of Missouri State, in 53.70.

Braun and Missouri State’s Sydney Zupan dueled in the 200 backstroke, but it was  Braun taking the victory in 2:03.04 to Zupan’s 2:03.37.

Chelsea Tatlow rounded out the rounded out the individual event sweep for Arkansas with a 4:20.38 in the 400 IM.

To cap off the all-around domination, Megan Strickland, Drolc, Leia Bates, and Jessie Garrison hit the wall first in 3:33.00 in the 400 IM.
