The Duke Blue Devils won both ACC Swimmer of the Week awards this week based on their big performances at the Carolina College Invitational hosted by UNC.
Mike Seaberg picked up the award on the men’s side after winning the 100 breast in a lifetime-best. The sophomore is joined by classmate Lindsay Schlichte, who won the 500 free and hit a lifetime-best 200 free for Duke.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke’s Mike Seaberg and teammate Lindsay Schlichte helped the Blue Devils capture both ACC Swimmer of the Week awards, after turning in solid performances this past weekend at the Carolina College Invitational. Also earning weekly honors were Clemson’s Danielle Reitsma and Notre Dame’s Joseph Coumos.
Duke’s Seaberg earned ACC Swimmer of the Week recognition after competing on the Blue Devils’ 200 free relay team which posted the ninth-fastest mark in program history. He also won the 100 breast and broke into Duke’s all-time top-10 in the event with a career-best swim (56.02). Seaberg earned additional personal records in the 50 free and the 200 breast.
Notre Dame’s Coumos took home the ACC Male Diver of the Week honors after sweeping both events against Cleveland State. The sophomore was victorious in the 1-meter with a score of 361.35 and set a new school record in the 3-meter with a 409.27.
Duke’s Schlichte grabbed ACC Female Swimmer of the Week honors after winning the 500 free with a season-best 4:54.45. The Garden City, New York, native swam a career-best 1:51.89 in a second-place finish in the 200 free, nearly a full second faster than her previous personal best.
Clemson’s Reitsma was named ACC Female Diver of the Week after recording NCAA Qualifying scores in all three events in the Tigers’ wins over College of Charleston and Davidson. She won the 3-meter with a new career-high score of 316.50 and finished second in both the 1-meter and platform.
