South Dakota State, South Dakota combine for Summit League’s final weekly awards

SDSU’s Jacobson, Campbell Selected as Summit League Swimmers of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. –South Dakota State’s Daniel Jacobson and Emily Campbell earn the season’s final weekly honors as they were selected as Summit League Swimmers of the Week for their performances Feb. 2-8.

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK        
Daniel Jacobson, South Dakota State

Daniel Jacobson of South Dakota State earns his first career Summit League Swimmer of the Week award after his performance at the Minnesota Challenge over the weekend. Jacobson was a part of three top-three finishing relay teams, including swimming the anchor leg of the winning 400 free relay and the lead leg of the winning 800 free relay. The sophomore added a third-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 1:53.76.

WOMEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Emily Campbell, South Dakota State

Emily Campbell has been named Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the second-straight week and the third time this season. Campbell won the 200-meter breaststroke at the Minnesota Challenge with a time of 2:22.47. She also swam the breaststroke leg of the second-place 200 medley relay team. On top of that, she added a fifth-place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.83.

SDSU’s Florand, USD’s Hertting Earn Summit League Diver of the Week Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. – South Dakota State’s Connor Florand and South Dakota’s Greysen Hertting earn the year’s final weekly honors as they were named Summit League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for their performances Feb. 2-8.

MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Connor Florand, Sound Dakota State

Connor Florand earns Summit League Diver of the Week honors for the second-consecutive week and the fifth time in his career after his performance at the Minnesota Challenge over the weekend. Florand smashed his personal-best mark in the one-meter dives with a score of 332.80. He also scored 304.45 in the three-meter dives. Both scores placed him fifth in the meet behind four University of Minnesota divers.

WOMEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK
Greysen Hertting, South Dakota

Hertting is named Summit League Diver of the Week for the tenth time this season and the 20th time of her career after her dives against Iowa, Northern Iowa and Western Illinois. Hertting posted the league’s highest marks in both the one-meter and three-meter dives. She posted 259.80 in the one-meter which earned her fourth place. The sophomore scored 282.80 in the three-meter height for a third-place finish.
