Le Clos Has High Tea with South African President

South African superstar Chad le Clos had the opportunity to sip tea with President Jacob Zuma. le Clos was one of the South African President’s special guests for high team on Wednesday.

le Clos was included in a group of four prominent South Africans that President Zuma invited for high tea before his State of the Nation address. The others included winner of the 2014 agriculture female entrepreneur awards programme Ivy Nokwanele Mzamo, winner of the 2014 water conservation award Mapule Phokompe, and Banyana Banyana striker and sports star of 2014 Portia Modise.

“We believe the opening of Parliament and the State of the Nation address is an event for all South Africans because Parliament is an institution of the people and we therefore want people to visit Parliament to feel part of it,” Zuma told News 24.

“That’s why every year we invite special guests of the president on the strength of the good work that they do in the development and promotion of our country and the sacrifices each has made for South Africa.”
