The 2015 CIS Championships will be held by the University of Victoria Vikes February 19-21, and will see the best teams in Canadian swimming go head to head in attempt to score a national title.

The UBC Thunderbirds are heavily favoured to win on the women’s side, but the University of Montreal women have an extremely strong group which contains one of the two women who earned a gold at this past summer’s Commonwealth Games: Katerine Savard. There’s plenty of weapons on both rosters which should make for an exciting match-up. Last year, the UBC Thunderbirds ran away from it almost doubling the points of second place finishers Montreal.

On the men’s side the UBC Thunderbirds are favoured this season to take down the defending champions; the University of Toronto Varsity Blues. Last year the Blues won by 80.5 points over UBC, but UBC has had some crucial pick-ups that could give them the slight edge. Yuri Kisil and Keegan Zanatta are among the recent swimmers that UBC acquired that could make a serious impact on the outcome of the competition.

Below are the current CIS standings of the teams going into the championship meet. The number to the right of each school’s points total indicates their placing at the CIS Championships last season.
