Torrie Edwards
Torrie is in her Junior year at Colby and is studying Computer Science and Mathematics. She is the squads leading backstroker and dabbles in sprint freestyle. Torrie is campus renowned for her amazing baking skills with cupcakes and apple pies being her specialties. Due to her amazing talent, the Colby squad has developed a bit of a sweet tooth.
Colby College Swimming and Diving
2012-2013
Torrie entered her first season at Colby as an immediate contributor. She specialized in backstroke and worked her way onto championship relays for the 400 Free and 200 Free Relays.
2013-2014
Torrie had a breakout sophomore season which included two top-16 finished at the NESCAC championships in the 50 and 200 backstroke. Torrie was also a key member of four of Colby’s top relays at the championship.
2014-2015
In her Junior season, Torrie took a strong leadership role on the team. Leading the Mules not only in the backstroke events but also away from the pool. She is most proud of the way the lady aquamules were able to come together as a team and grow stronger than they thought possible. She had an excellent championship meet and was a key member of the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays that made the top-8 podium for the first time in three seasons.
Personal
Torrie is an avid photographer and truly enjoys seeing “an imperfect world full of perfect moments” through her camera lens. She also possesses the sharpest and most sardonic sense of humor this side of the Mississippi River.
