Morganne Hodsdon
Morganne is in her junior season at Colby. She is studying Economics and French and recently returned from spending a semester abroad in Dijon, France at the University of Bourgogne. She is one of the aquamule’s star swimmers and has accumulated an impressive number of dual meet victories in her three years on the squad. She is a member of the program’s leadership council and truly enjoys when her coaches denote her name with a picture of an actual badger.

2012-2013
Morganne burst on the conference scene leading the mules in the freestyle and backstroke events. She made an immediate impact at NESCAC Championships making finals in the 200 free and 200 back. She was also a key member of several championship relays that placed in the top 10.
2013-2014
In her sophomore season, Morganne took the mantle of lead middle distance freestyler and backstroker. She amassed a number of wins and in the dual meet season and was one of the team’s leading scorers at championships with three finals appearances in the 200 back, 500 free, and 1,000 free events. She remembers the season particularly for the determined and enthusiastic group of incoming Freshman that she had the opportunity to mentor.
2014-2015
Morganne spent the first half of the season abroad in Dijon, France but maintained a vigilant training method. Along with teammate PJ DuPre, she braved the rail system and rode 40 minutes to the nearest pool to get practices in. The hard work payed off and Morganne made finals at NESCAC Championships in the 200 back, 200 free, and 500 free. She was the anchor of an 800 Free Relay that dramatically took 6th and made the podium on the second day of the meet.
Personal
Morganne’s middle name is actually Badger. She was named for Badger Lake. She is an ardent fan of sprinkles and feels they should be featured on every dessert. She is very involved on campus and in 2014, she walked the entire 12 hours of Colby’s Relay for Life.
